 You just have to present a photographic project containing no more than 20 images (B/W or colour) in jpeg digital format (72dpi) not exceeding 1400 pixels (largest side) each. This presentation is free of charges.

You must send your portfolio along with your identification – name, address and e-mail address - until April 30 to: Direcção dos Encontros da Imagem Campo das Hortas, n.º 35 4700-421 Braga.

An expert jury will select the works to participate in the final stage of Emergentes 09. The evaluation criteria are: interest, coherence and originality of the projects, as well as conceptual quality and/or technique of the works. The names of the finalists will be announced online on May 4.

If you are among the finalists, you will have to choose the name of 6 experts that will be invited to review your works in the final Portfolio Review. The portfolio review will take place on May 15 and 16, during the festival. The finalists will have to pay a registration fee of €60, which includes the portfolio review, a catalogue of the festival and one meal during the Portfolio reading day. After May 8 - the deadline for registration – and till May 12, 20% of the registration fee will be added to it.

The Festival organization will inform the finalists in due time about the deadline for the payment of the registration fee. The winner of the Festival`s portfolio review will receive the Emergentes Best Portfolio Prize: an exhibition in Encontros da Imagem 2010. Images from all finalists will be shown at a special projection session during the Festival, and for one year www.encontrosdaimagem.com will host a microsite showing each finalist`s CV and images.
